HI THERE, I’M NICOLE!

I am a cat mom, wife to my wonderful husband Nick, and entrepreneur; founder of my engineering company and Bikini Slayer – my blog turned retail store turned blog. I grew up in New Smyrna Beach and now live in Orlando, however, I'm lucky enough to have houses in both cities now and my husband and I really reside between the two! I'm a civil engineer by day and bikini slayer for life.

Bikini Slayer was born in 2010 when I needed an escape from day-to-day corporate office life. Daydreaming of past summers and thinking of waves crashing, sandy toes, and the smell of suntan lotion would always take me back to my happy place. Bikini Slayer was my creative outlet which allowed me to return to the carefree days of fun in the sun. I've always had a passion for fashion and beauty - and it's no surprise that my blog allowed me to express myself even though I wasn't sure what others thought. Let me remind you, this was back before Instagram influencers were a "thing" so as I was posting and brands reached out to send products, I was over the moon!

Not long after its inception, sometime in February of 2012, and after seeing the success that I was bringing brands from wearing and posting their products, I decided to transition Bikini Slayer into an online retail boutique full of only the best and most sought-after swimwear and the like. After 11 years of running the online e-commerce store, all while working and ditching corporate life in 2019 to launch my own engineering firm, I sadly decided that it was time to close the e-comm store in June of 2023. The end of an era for sure!

Life has evolved in many ways since starting the blog, but I still love to share everything from my personal motivation to home decor, fitness, fashion, beauty, recipes, family, and everything in between. I truly love what I do and want to motivate you to be the best version of yourself. I absolutely love hearing from you about a pair of sunglasses or words of motivation that I've posted, such a wonderful feeling and I am thankful for it every day! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being here!

SOME QUESTIONS I GET ASKED A LOT:

  • I’m a native Floridian – we are hard to come by! Born in Orlando and moved around Central Florida a bit growing up; from Brooksville to Deland and settling in New Smyrna Beach. I lived the beach life until I moved back to Orlando to go to College (Go Knights!). Now splitting time between Orlando and New Smyrna Beach, my husband and I plan on making NSB our full-time residence sooner rather than later!

  • There’s a pretty extensive story behind starting my blog and the point at which I am today. Click here to read all the juicy details and learn more about how Bikini Slayer came to be!

  • I get this a lot! For the record, I am 5’8” tall (even though my driver’s license says 5’9” ha, I rounded up…sue me). I am a 32D and typically a small in tops unless I am going for an oversized look, a 25”-26” in bottoms, a 7.5 in shoes, and a small in bikinis (even the tops, I prefer them skimpy)! I try to share all my sizing info on my LTK page.

  • The best piece of advice that I received in my early twenties working in the corporate world from a fellow older coworker was to take care of my face – moisturize, moisturize, moisturize, and SPF. Given that my early days were living at the beach with no sunscreen while people were sunbathing in Crisco oil…I thought this may be a lost cause. Ha! But, I did just that and have broken down my routine for you here! Happy moisturizing!
