My Current Denim Obsessions for Fall
If there’s one category in my closet I will always make room for, it’s denim. I’ve called myself a denim connoisseur more than once, and I stand by it. 😂
But this fall, I’m finding myself drawn to denim that feels a little more interesting. The classics are still there, but the washes, shapes and details are what are making jeans feel new again.
Relaxed & Wide-Leg
The wider, more relaxed silhouette is still one of my favorites. I love the way a great wide-leg jean can look effortless with a simple tank and sneakers, then completely elevated with a beautiful blouse, belt and heels.
Case in point: the Mother denim I recently styled for my Saks fall edit. The relaxed leg paired with that chocolate blouse, suede Saint Laurent bag and snakeskin boots is exactly how I want to wear denim right now—classic pieces, modern style.
Denim With a Little Personality
Distressing, exaggerated cuffs, interesting seams, subtle patterns—I’m here for the details.
I especially love when the denim itself becomes the statement. Throw on a fitted tank or tee, add a great pair of sunglasses and suddenly the jeans are doing most of the work.

Darker Washes & Fall Neutrals
As we move further into fall, I’m also reaching for deeper indigo, black, cream and warmer neutral denim. And anything in the chocolate/brown family has my attention this season.
These washes immediately make denim feel a little more polished and are so good paired with suede, leather, oversized knits and all of those rich fall textures.
The Perfect Jeans > Trends
I love seeing what’s trending, but when it comes to denim, my rule is always the same: wear the pair that makes you feel amazing.
Straight, wide, relaxed, distressed, dark wash or something completely unexpected—if the fit is good and you feel fabulous in them, they belong in the rotation.
Because if there’s one thing I know for sure, there is absolutely no such thing as owning too many pairs of great jeans.
At least that’s what I’m telling myself. 😉
