Strong Is Always in SEASON
Why I’m Training for My Future Self
There was a time when working out was mostly about how I wanted to look.
These days, my reason is much bigger than that.
Of course I still want to feel good in my clothes—and my bikinis. 😉 But more than anything, I want to be strong, healthy, capable and independent for as long as possible.
I have plans. Lots of them. And they require strength.
I’m Lifting for the Life I Want to Keep Living
Strength training has become one of the non-negotiables in my routine. Not because I’m chasing perfection, but because building and maintaining muscle matters more to me now than ever.
I want strong legs for long walks on the beach. I want to carry my own suitcase. I want to travel, stay active and keep saying yes to the things I love doing.
Looking strong is great.
Being strong is the goal.
Consistency Over Perfection
I work out regularly, but that doesn’t mean every workout is amazing or every week looks exactly the same.
Some days I lift heavy. Some days it’s Pilates. Some days movement is simply getting outside and walking.
I’ve learned that the routine you can actually maintain will always beat the “perfect” one you quit after three weeks.
My very unscientific formula?
Lift. Fuel. Rest. Repeat.
And then keep doing it.
Health Belongs on the Calendar
I schedule workouts because if I don’t make time for the things that matter, somehow everything else finds a way to take that time instead.
The same goes for recovery and preventive care.
For me, taking care of myself isn’t something I squeeze in when life gets less busy. It’s part of the schedule.
Not because I’m afraid of getting older—but because I fully intend to enjoy it.
A Little Note to Your Future Self
You don’t need to overhaul your entire life on Monday morning.
Lift something. Take the walk. Eat the protein. Get some sleep. Make the appointment you’ve been putting off.
Start where you are and build from there.
Your future self is cheering you on.
And mine apparently has plans. 😉
